Osage City And Emporia Get Hit With High Snow Totals

LYON COUNTY, Kan. (WIBW)__With temperatures in the upper 30's, the snow in Shawnee County did not add up to expected totals, but residents in emporia and osage city were not as lucky.

An early morning semi truck accident due to icy roads caused two miles of I-35 in Emporia to be shut down while crews repaired a fuel leak.

Emporia State University delayed classes until 10 AM while store owners worked hard to clear off sidewalks and roads.

Osage City received a foot of snow causing cars to become stuck and residents like Zina Womack tired of being stranded indoors.

She said, "I have never been stuck on this road before. It sucks being stuck in the house all day with the husband but what can you do?
