HIGH WINDS TOOK A TOLL IN JACKSON AND HILLSDALE COUNTIES WHERE 20 PERCENT OF CONSUMERS ENERGY CUSTOMERS LOST POWER.
NICK PERREAULT EXPLAINS WHY SOME HOMEOWNERS SAY
THE STORM WAS BAD, BUT IT COULD'VE BEEN MUCH WORSE.
TAKE PKG

ROAD DEPARTMENT CREWS LIKE LARRY BAUM
GOT TO WORK AS EARLY AS 330 THIS MORNING
TO HELP CONSUMERS ENERGY CREWS
CLEAN UP WHAT MOTHER NATURE SPLIT IN HALF OR LIFTED UP

CONSUMERS BROUGHT IN AN ADDITIONAL 60 CREWS TO REPAIR DOWNED
LINES LIKE HERE ALONG CLINTON ROAD
NOW THE ROOTS ARE SHOWING

HEAVY WINDS SPLIT THIS MASSIVE TREE IN HALF ALONG SPRINGPORT ROAD
JUST A MILE NORTH
THESE TREES SHUT DOWN THIS ROAD

AT 213 BILL TYLER'S CLOCK WENT OUT
HE QUICKLY RUSHED HIS WIFE AND KIDS TO THE BASEMENT
HOURS LATER WHEN HE WOKE UP HE SAW THIS
DAMAGE IN THE FRONT AND BACK OF HIS SOME

HIS SON'S CAR DID END UP PRETTY WELL SMASHED
BUT ASIDE FROM SOME RIPPED SHINGLES
SOMEHOW THIS IS ALL THE DAMAGE HIS HOUSE SUFFERED
MISSING THE TREE FORT
GARAGE
MOTORHOME
AND YES NOT A STRATCH ON THE SATELITTE DISH
EVEN LEAVING BILL WITH HIS SENSE OF HUMOR

BUT BILL SAYS THEY HAVE INSURANCE SO YES THEY'RE
LEFT WITH A LOT OF CLEANUP BUT EXTREMLY LUCKY
TO SURVIVE WHAT MOTHER NATURE TRIED TO TEAR APART
