A large storm system is bringing heavy rain, freezing rain, sleet and snow to the Eastern third of the United States on Wednesday. The major coastal cities such as New York and Boston will see only rain. The snow will stay more inland across the Appalachian Mountains, over towards Pittsburgh and upstate New York. While delays look likely, it does not look like weather related flight cancellations will be a major issue. So, while the airlines may be running a little behind, it looks like most will eventually make it to their destination.
East Coast airport delays have now started to have a ripple effect across the country. Make sure to check your flights because a lot are running behind.
List of airports reporting moderate or higher delays:
New York - All major airports
Chicago - Midway
Road travel around the Mid-West will be perfect all weekend long with no rain or snow chances until the middle of next week.
