February was cold with lots of snow although 12.9" of the total 15" for the month fell in one calendar day. There were 8 other days that recorded at least a trace of snow. This is pretty close to February 2013 where 14.5" fell including 9.8" on the 21st that included thundersnow.
Temperatures on the other hand were a big difference. February 2014 had an average high of only 27° for the first 14 days of the month thanks to only 2 days above the freezing mark. The 2nd half the average increased to 47° with only 1 day below the freezing mark. This averaged out to 26.9° (7.5° below average) factoring in the low. Comparing that to February 2013 that average temperature of 34° was exactly average for the month.
