A short time later, another car came down the street and also became stuck in the same icy trap that captured Halverson's car.

Halverson's calls to the mobile home park maintenance department didn't generate the response she was hoping for.

Thursday (1/30), a private firm arrived and started digging to find the broken water main.

In prolonged sub-freezing weather, water main breaks can make it difficult to fight fires, cause damage to homes and cars.

A water main break in a Dutch Village mobile home community in Michigan has been a double headache for one tenant.

She can't live in her home, and she can't use her car.

Hilary Halverson noticed a pool of water from a water main break creeping toward her mobile home last Friday (1/24).

Eventually it surrounded her car and froze it in place.

A short time later, another car came down the street and also became stuck in the same icy trap that captured Halverson's car.

Hilary has moved in with her mom for the time being, because she has not had heat or water inside her trailer.

Dutch Village isn't the only place with broken water mains.

They're popping up all over central-Michigan as the frost line sinks deeper and deeper into the soil.

Flint, Michigan had 20 mains leaking Thursday (1/30) morning.
