Arctic Air Continues Through The Weekend

It was only 3 days ago when the temperatures was 61° before an arctic cold front pushed through Wednesday giving us a high of only 21° on Thursday. That was the first of at least 7 consecutive days of temperatures below freezing which will break the 2013 record which currently stands at 3 straight which occurred last month and earlier in the year. It has been a completely different start to December this year compared to 2012 with about a 20° difference in average high temperatures. Even though it has felt very cold so far this month, the average high temperature for December 1-5 is still 1.8° above average mainly due to the first 3 days of the month. As mentioned above the cold blast continues with a possibility of some spots at or above the freezing mark Wednesday with everyone above freezing Thursday.

Other facts:
Low of 12° this morning was the coldest this fall (it was 14°)
Forecast low of 2° tonight will be close to the coldest of 2013 (1° on February 23)
