REMARKS...

RAINFALL WAS SLIGHTLY BELOW NORMAL WITH TEMPERATURES NEAR NORMAL FOR
JUNE. IN FACT...EACH DAY/S AVERAGE TEMPERATURE DIFFERED BY TEN
DEGREES OR LESS FROM ITS NORMAL AVERAGE TEMPERATURE. SEVERAL STORM
SYSTEMS IMPACTED THE AREA...BUT MOST PROVIDED ONLY MINOR IMPACTS TO
TOPEKA.

A STRONG LATE SPRING STORM BROUGHT PERSISTLY STRONG AND MOIST SOUTH
WINDS ON THE 6TH THAT CAUSED SOME MINOR TREE DAMAGE IN TOPEKA...THE
YEARS FIRST 90 DEGREE DAY ON THE 7TH....AND A COOL DAY ON THE 8TH. A
STUBBORN SLOW-MOVING UPPER SYSTEM PROVIDED LIGHT PRECIPITATION FROM
THE 10TH THROUGH THE 14TH. WEAK COLD FRONTS CAME INTO THE AREA ON
THE 18TH AND 22ND AND PROVIDED PERIODS OF THUNDERSTORMS. ANOTHER
FRONT STALLED IN THE AREA FROM THE 27TH THROUGH THE 30TH AND CREATED
PERIODS OF SHOWERS AND COOL TEMPERATURES. THE SYSTEM IN LATE JUNE
KEPT HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE LOWER 70S FOR THE FINAL THREE DAYS OF
THE MONTH.
