Hurricane Season

June 1st is the first official day of the 2007 Atlantic Hurricane Season, and it's not a moment too soon! Meteorologists are keeping an eye on a tropical low developing over the northwest Caribbean in the next couple days.

It's unlikely that this will become a strong tropical system, but it will have to be monitored. The Florida peninsula could receive significant rainfall from the system, and it may even reach places like Georgia and the Carolinas.

This is good news because these areas have been experiencing abnormally dry weather.
