Showers and thunderstorms were expected to pass through Great Lakes and into the Southern Plains, Southeast and Mid-Atlantic on Sunday. There was a slight chance of severe weather including possible tornadoes along the eastern seaboard.

Dry conditions were expected in most of the West. A few showers were possible in the Southeast, however.

Fog was to keep coastal areas cool, while inland areas were to warm up considerably.

Temperatures were to be in the 80s and 90s along the Southeast Coast; 80s and 90s in the Northeast; 90s and 100s in the Southern Plains; triple-digits in the Southwest; and 90s in the Northwest.

Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Saturday ranged from 33 degrees at Polebridge, Mont., to 118 degrees at Death Valley, Calif
