8.10 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION FELL AT TOPEKAS BILLARD AIRPORT FROM DECEMBER 1ST...2007 TO FEBRUARY 29TH...2008. THIS BREAKS THE RECORD FOR THE MOST PRECIPITATION RECEIVED DURING A WINTER SEASON. THE PREVIOUS RECORD WAS 7.81 INCHES...SET DURING THE WINTER OF 1948-1949. WEATHER RECORDS FOR TOPEKA DATE BACK TO JUNE OF 1887.
