THE MINIMUM TEMPERATURE AT TOPEKA/S BILLARD AIRPORT FELL TO 46 DEGREES AT 137 AM CST ON MONDAY. THIS BROKE THE RECORD FOR WARMEST MINIMUM TEMPERATURE FOR JANUARY 28TH WHICH WAS PREVIOUSLY 44 DEGREES SET IN 2006.

A MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE OF 71 DEGREES OCCURRED AT 327 PM CST IN CONCORDIA ON MONDAY. THIS BROKE THE OLD RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 68 DEGREES SET IN 1968. IN ADDITION A NEW RECORD FOR THE WARMEST MINIMUM TEMPERATURE WAS SET IN CONCORDIA WHEN THE MERCURY FELL TO A LOW OF 41 DEGREES AT 832 AM CST MONDAY. THE OLD RECORD FOR WARMEST MINIMUM TEMPERATURE WAS 37 DEGREES SET IN 1984. THIS TURNS OUT TO BE THE WARMEST JANUARY 28TH EVER RECORDED AT CONCORDIA WITH AND AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OF 56 DEGREES...AND TIES FOR SECOND AS THE WARMEST DAY ON AVERAGE IN THE MONTH OF JANUARY. THE MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE OF 71 DEGREES TIES FOR EIGHTH PLACE AS THE HIGHEST MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE DURING JANUARY. SINCE RECORDS HAVE BEEN KEPT AT CONCORDIA...THE HIGHEST THE MERCURY HAS EVER REACH DURING THE MONTH OF JANUARY WAS 78 DEGREES ON 10 JANUARY 1911.
