Winter Weather Timeline 12/6

7:49am - Republic Cty reported ~.5" snow just after 7 AM, Dickinson Cty reportred ~.5" snow around 730 AM.

8:09am - 730am @ Enterprise: 1/2" of a snow/sleet mix on the ground, all snow falling @8am. 800am @ Randolph: Back to a wet mix of snow/freezing rain.

8:31am - 1.5" of snow at Miltonvale as of 8am.

08:45am - 5 Sw Scandia [Republic Co, KS] trained spotter reports SNOW of M2.5 INCH at 08:30 AM CST -- a thin coating of ice on the ground...followed by 2.5 inches of snow. all snow falling at 830am.

8:46am -Sleet falling across Anderson County. Deputies reporting Hwy 31 is quite slick.

9:15am - .25" of snow at the National Weather Service office thus far

9:41am - around .75" accumulation thus far, just had a changeover to mostly sleet with snow mixed in at the National Weather Service office

9:45am - A few minutes ago, there was a report of 1.5" of snow on the ground in Mahattan, and still falling.

10:10am - One inch measured at the National Weather Service office so far, has fallen in about an hours time

10:22am - 6 Sse Haddam [Washington Co, KS] trained spotter reports SNOW of M3.5 INCH at 10:15 AM CST -- sleet/snow mix began around 6am...and switched over to all snow just before 7am. 3.5 inches of snow on ground as of 1015am.

10:40am - Sheriff deputy in Brown county reported 1.5" accumulation thus far.

10:41am - Seneca reported 2.5 to 3 inches.

11:00am - National Weather Service reporting all sleet at this time

12:20PM - Snow has ended west of Manhattan. Topeka could still see another 1/4 inch. Lawrence has the potential for another 1 inch.

11:21am - 1 Nw Corning [Nemaha Co, KS] trained spotter reports SNOW of M4.0 INCH at 11:15 AM CST --

11:27am - Snowfall in downtown lawrence about 1 inch with lots of slush on roadways, and slick sideroads reported.

12:10pm - Blue Rapids [Marshall Co, KS] trained spotter reports SNOW of M3.0 INCH at 12:00 PM CST --

12:37pm - I-35 in Lyon County at 141 southbound is completely shut down from the 141 to K-130 due to a fatal wreck.

12:45pm - Topeka National Weather Service cancels Winter Weather Advisory for Clay, Cloud, Dickinson, Geary, Marshall, Morris, Ottawa, Republic, Riley, Washington [KS]

12:45pm - Topeka National Weather Service continues Winter Weather Advisory for Anderson, Brown, Coffey, Douglas, Franklin, Jackson, Jefferson, Lyon, Nemaha, Osage, Pottawatomie, Shawnee, Wabaunsee [KS] till 3:00 PM CST

1:09pm - Lawrence [Douglas Co, KS] emergency mngr reports SNOW of M1.2 INCH at 01:04 PM CST --

1:09pm - Holton [Jackson Co, KS] county official reports SNOW of E2.0 INCH at 01:09 PM CST -- quarter mile visibility with heavy snow.

2:10PM - Snow accumulation has ended in Topeka. Flurries are still possible through 3PM, but accumulation is likely finished. Travel eastbound on I-70 from Topeka to Kansas City will still encounter snowfall at this time.

3PM - Snow has now ended in Jefferson and Douglas Counties.
