THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF NORTHEAST KANSAS EFFECTIVE THIS FRIDAY AFTERNOON FROM 500 PM UNTIL MIDNIGHT CDT. TORNADOES...HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS. THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 35 STATUTE MILES NORTH AND SOUTH OF A LINE FROM 20 MILES WEST NORTHWEST OF CONCORDIA KANSAS TO 25 MILES NORTH OF TOPEKA KANSAS. Today - Showers and thunderstorms moving along the Nebraska/Kansas border this afternoon with partly to mostly cloudy skies elsewhere. Highs 84-88. Winds SSE 10-25 G 25mph.

Tonight - Scattered showers and thunderstorms possible. Some of these could be strong to severe. A mild night. Lows 66-70. Winds S 5-10mph.

4TH OF JULY - We will see a chance for showers/t-storms in the morning on Saturday, and there is a slight chance for a shower in the afternoon- but most areas should be mainly dry for the 4th. Highs 81-85.
