Collection Conversations: Fishes with Dr. Leo Smith
Thursday, January 16th, 2014 7-8 pm
KU Natural History Museum 1345 Jayhawk Blvd. Lawrence, KS 66045
Join us to see specimens from the collection of more than 660,000 fishes in the KU Ichthyology collection, from the freshwaters of the Midwest to tropical oceans. Dr. Leo Smith will show examples of deep sea fishes and discuss some of the interesting traits they have developed, including bioluminescence. Collection Conversations are short, informal talks by research scientists about the collections that form the basis of research at the biodiversity Institute and Natural History Museum.
