The Laboratory Health Fair will be held on Saturday, October 5th from 7:00 to 10:00 AM at the Holyrood American Legion, 416 N. Main Street, Holyrood. No appointment is necessary. Cash, check, debit or major credit card is accepted. Pre-registration online at www.ewmed.com is available until noon on 10/4/13. Free blood pressure checks will be given. 4th Annual, Heartland Bladesmithing Symposium

This expo is for the knife enthusiast, knife collector and knife maker, from beginner to Master. The registration fee for attendees is $65. Featured will be demonstrations by ABS Master Smiths and Journeyman Smiths from Kansas, Arkansas, Iowa, Minnesota and Missouri.
The demonstrations for attendees will include basic blade forging and grinding, take-down knife making, silver wire inlay, leather sheath making, designer steel making with thermite, decorative file-work and wrapped frame knife handle making. Hands on knife project assistance and a question and answer time on knifemaking topics will be held on Sunday.
The registration fee for the event is $65.00. Registration can be made in the "Store" area of the American Bladesmith Society web site. www.americanbladesmith.com. Through the ABS Office via phone and credit card, (419) 832-0400. Or, register on site at the event.

Pancake Breakfast from 7 - 10; Lunch from 11 - 2 with homemade Bierocks, brats, hot dogs, homemade pie and cookies, Country Store with hand made items and baked goods, Silent Auction Baskets, Crafter/Vendor Booths, and Children's carnival. Proceeds used for emergency help in North Topeka and Oakland and for the Weekend Backpack program for children in 6 schools.
