The Sunflower Soccer Fields were busy with competition Saturday for the Sunflower State Games.
Commissioner Ed Becker said about 29 adult teams were signed up for the SSG soccer tournament, while about 20 youth teams signed on for the 3-on-3 competition. He says the heat would be a concern as the day went on, with the schedule arranged to allow for mandatory water breaks.
Becker says the 3-on-3 competition is a faster pace, and a good way for young players to focus on their skills.
The tournament will wrap up Sunday.
