Track and field events burned up the Hummer Sports Park oval Saturday during the Sunflower State Games.

Dozens of athletes spanning generations turned out for track and field competition at Hummer Sports Park Saturday.
Among the highlights, 8-year old Amari Lipscomb torched the track, winning gold in the 6 to 8 years old division of the 400 metters in a time of 1:15.15. For the 16-year old girls, Kirsti Sanders of Shawnee surged in the final 20 meters to take the win.
