Ron spent two years at WIBW-TV, working as an anchor and producer from 2003 to 2005. He began as a co-anchor, with Melissa Brunner, on the 5 p.m. news, though much of his time was spent as the anchor of 13 News This Morning, which aired from 5:30 a.m.- 7 a.m. Ron was also the producer and news anchor on Midday in Kansas.

Ron left WIBW to become a spokesperson for USD 501. He enjoyed working with the people at Channel 13. Ron co-hosted several Children’s Miracle Network Telethons and was involved in a number of community events. He remembers how difficult it was to get up at 2:30 a.m., but says it was worth it and has many fond memories of his time at 13.
