Growing up as a farm girl in southern Minnesota, I was initially terrified of thunderstorms and would get physically sick when there was a threat of severe weather, especially when a tornado destroyed our small town in 1998. Eventually my fear of the weather turned into an obsession, and I decided from a very early age that I wanted to make weather my career.
I attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and graduated in May 2008. During my undergraduate career, I interned for WKOW-TV in Madison, Wisconsin and worked part-time at Weather Central Inc. in Madison as well. I joined the Skywatch 13 Weather Team in September 2008 as the weekend meteorologist.
When I am not being the weather girl, you can usually find me either reading, running, shopping or stationed in front of my TV flipping between ESPN and The Weather Channel. I am a huge sports fan, and you can find me cheering on the Minnesota Twins during baseball season, and the Wisconsin Badgers during football and basketball season. I also enjoy spending time with family and friends, and love being outside- boating in the summer, and snowmobiling in the winter! I just moved here to Topeka, so if you have any suggestions of fun things to do, email me!
