Washburn Sweeps Lincoln Thursday Night

Kansas City, Mo. – League play continued in week seven as three teams on each side took the floor in MIAA basketball.

Missouri Western at Northeastern State
WBB – NSU 57, MWSU 42
Northeastern State outscored Missouri Western by 14 in the second half to pick up a victory at home. NSU hit 24 total free throws as they moved to 2-1 in league play this season.

For the RiverHawks Courtney Cowen led the way with 14 points and five rebounds. Mya Walker had 12 points and Carrington Fox pulled down eight rebounds. For the Griffons Quenisha Lockett had a double-double with 19 points and ten rebounds.

MBB – NSU 73, MWSU 70
Northeastern State came from behind at the half to win at home over Missouri Western. NSU shot .538 from the three-point line as they moved to 3-0 in league play.

For the RiverHawks Bryton Hobbs led the way with 20 points on the evening. Keon Littleton had 17 points and eight rebounds and Marcus Sheppard had 14 points and nine rebounds. Ryan Devers led the way for the Griffons with 16 points and six rebounds. Adarius Fulton had 12 points, four rebounds and four assists.

Lincoln at Washburn
WBB – WU 74, LU 66
Washburn erased a four point halftime deficit to pick up a victory over Lincoln at home. The Ichabods shot well from behind the three point line as they moved to 2-1 in league play.

For the Ichabods Casyn Buchman had 21 points, six rebounds and dished four assists. Taylor Ignoto had 14 points and Brittney Lynch pulled down 10 rebounds. For the Blue Tigers Jennifer Rosado scored a game high 24 points on the night. Hunter Yoakum and Quiessence Price each added 14 points in the effort.

MBB – WU 70, LU 65
Lincoln tied the game with less than three minutes to play, but could not complete the comeback as Washburh won at home. WU outrebounded LU as they moved to 2-1 in league play this season.

For the Ichabods Jeff Reid and Kyle Wiggins each had 15 points. On the glass Alex North pulled down 14 total rebounds. For the Blue Tigers Josh Buie had 22 points and five rebounds. Charles Cole finished with 18 points and six rebounds on the night.

Central Missouri at Central Oklahoma
WBB - #8 UCM 94, UCO 76
Central Missouri got 53 points in the first half as they picked up a victory on the road at Central Oklahoma. UCM shot .534 from the field as they moved to 2-0 in league play

For the Jennies BreAnna Lewis was three of six from behind the three-point line scoring 22 points. Keuna Flax had 20 points while Shelby Winkelmann added 11 points. For the Bronchos Britney Morgan had 15 points and three assists. Olivia Mason had 12 points and Julia Mason added nine points on the night.

MBB – UCM 72, UCO 70
Central Missouri outscored Central Oklahoma 8-1 over the final 2:58 to pick up a victory on the road. UCM trailed by four at the half and by as much as ten in the second half as they moved to 2-0 in league play.

For the Mules Charles Hammork led the way with 18 points and three assists. Jon Gilliam and Jordan Epps each finished with 13 points in the game. For the Bronchos Josh Gibbs had a double-double with 27 points and 10 rebounds. Seth Heckert added 14 points and Phillip Brown pulled down seven boards.
