LAWRENCE, Kan. (WIBW) -- Kansas Football is in its' first few days of Fall Camp. And the Jayhawk defense is looking for a solid 2014 season.

The offensive side of the ball is welcoming in a new offensive coordinator. But the defense is returning nine potential starters and has been at times the backbone for the Jayhawks for a few years.

Kansas Senior Cornerback Jacorey Shepard said, "It was a little rocky. But as we just kept working and years kept going on, you could start seeing bits and pieces. Going into my last year my senior year I actually see it all coming together. Where we have everything that we need to actually do it this year. "

Kansas Senior Linebacker Ben Heeney said, "I think we have one of the best defenses in the conference. I think it's awesome that it's my senior year and this our last time to prove it. We have a bunch of seniors on our defense so there's probably going to be a lot of new faces out their next year, but we're really looking forward to it this year."
