Kansas City, Mo. -- League play is set to get underway tonight as MIAA volleyball turns the corner into week three.

#6 Central Missouri opens league play at home
Record: 9-0 Sept. 17: #6 UCM vs. MSSU 7 p.m.
Sept. 20: #6 UCM vs. SBU 7 p.m. Sept. 21: #6 UCM at LWU 3 p.m.
#7 Central Missouri will open MIAA play with back-to-back home games as they ride a nine match winning streak. They are led by MIAA Hitter of the Week Taylor Goodness who is averaging 3.82 kills per set while hitting .350 on the year. Julia Bates is averaging a team best 11.29 assists per set and adding 1.43 kills per set. On the defensive side of things Haley Thompson is averaging 1.21 blocks per set while Annie Reilly averages 5.07 digs per set for the season.
Central Oklahoma tries to remain unbeaten
Record: 8-0 Sept. 17: UCO vs. PSU 7 p.m.
Sept. 20: UCO at FHSU 6 p.m. Sept. 21: UCO at #5 UNK 7 p.m.
Central Oklahoma opens MIAA play at home as they then take their eight game winning streak on the road to face FHSU and #5 UNK. Barbara Jackson is leading the way for the Bronchos averaging 3.44 kills per set while hitting .290 for the year. Katy Davis is the teams top setter averaging 7.89 assists per set. For the UCO defense MIAA Specialist of the Week Tate Hardaker is averaging 6.29 digs per set and Juliette Smith leads the team with 1.26 blocks per set this season.
Emporia State opens league play with Turnpike Tussle
Record: 6-2 Sept. 17: ESU vs. #11 WU 7 p.m.
Sept. 21: ESU vs. MWSU 3 p.m.
Emporia State opens MIAA play with the Turnpike Tussle as they play two straight at home. The Hornets are led by Josie Williams who is averaging 2.68 kills per set and Carly Spicer who is averaging 2.35 kills per set and hitting .333 on the year. Macki Pankratz is averaging 5.39 assists per set while Sydney Hartman is averaging 4.55 per set in a two setter line-up. Kelly Holden is averaging 4.65 digs per set to lead the squad.
Fort Hays State heads to #5 UNK
Record: 0-5 Sept. 17: FHSU at #5 UNK 7 p.m.
Sept. 20: FHSU vs. UCO 6 p.m. Sept. 21: FHSU vs. PSU 2 p.m.
Fort Hays State will look to bounce back after dropping their first five matches on the road in Hawaii. They are led offensively by Madison Schwartz who had 2.07 kills per set and Jenna Ulrich and Haley Corkill who each finished with 2.00 kills per set. Libby Ary was the squads top setter averaging 4.38 assists per set. Defensively Makenzie Weinman averaged 3.59 digs per set and Ulrich averaged 0.94 blocks per set on the weekend.
Lindenwood opens league play at home
Record: 3-6 Sept. 17: LWU vs. Missouri Baptist 7 p.m.
Sept. 20: LWU vs. NWMSU 7 p.m. Sept. 21: LWU vs. #6 UCM 3 p.m.
Lindenwood will open league play with a four game homestand after facing Missouri Baptist on the 17th. The Lions are led by Aleah Rosenau who is averaging 2.62 kills per set. Emma Brydels is the squads best setter averaging 8.27 assists per set. Brydels also serves as the teams best receiver with 3.30 digs per contest while Kayla Guiot has 0.87 blocks per set.
Missouri Southern heads into MIAA play on winning streak
Record: 3-4 Sept. 17: MSSU at #6 UCM 7 p.m.
Sept. 21: MSSU vs. NWMSU 6 p.m.
After breaking a 38 match losing streak MSSU is now on a two match winning streak heading into MIAA play. The Lions are led by Katie Politte who is averaging 3.67 kills per set. Abby Finder is the teams top setter averaging 8.21 assists per set. On the return Danielle Severns is averaging 2.67 digs per set.
Missouri Western starts MIAA campaign on the road
Record: 2-6 Sept. 17: MWSU at NWMSU 7 p.m. Sept. 21: MWSU at ESU 3 p.m.
Missouri Western will begin MIAA play with two straight away from home. The Griffons are led by Erica Rottinghaus who has averaging 3.40 kills per est. Stephanie Hattey is averaging 1.57 kills per set and a team best 6.79 assists per set. On defense Sarah Faubel is averaging 4.23 digs per set while Amanda Boender is averaging 0.93 blocks per set.
#5 Nebraska-Kearney plays three straight at home

#5 Nebraska-Kearney has lost just four total sets as they prepare to begin MIAA play. They are led by Ashley Leitner who is averaging 4.38 kills per set while hitting .308 on the year. Erin Seele is averaging 11.10 assists per set as the teams primary ball handler. Defensively Liz McGowan is averaging 3.93 digs per set and Bailey Sokolowski is averaging 0.88 blocks per set.
Northwest Missouri preps for long road trip

Bridget Hanafin is the teams primary setter averaging 10.28 assists per set. Bailey Vance is leading the way with 4.40 digs per set on the year.
Pittsburg State opens MIAA campaign on the road
