Emporia State Volleyball Falls In Five Sets At Pitt State

September 28, 2013 - Emporia State played their fifth five set match of the season in a 3-2 loss at Pittsburg State on Saturday afternoon. The Hornets fell 25-22, 23-25, 27-29, 25-22, 9-15 in a match that saw 37 ties and 13 lead changes in the five sets.

Carly Spicer led Emporia State with a match high 20 kills on .396 hitting with six block assists. She was joined in double figures by Josie Williams with 13, Meghan Dugan with 12 and Brianna Kaiser with 11 kills. Kaiser was playing in her first extended action of the season and finished with 22 kills for a double-double.

Emporia State returns to acton on Friday when they play host to #6 Neb.-Kearney. First serve in White Auditorium is set for 7 p.m.
