November 29, 2013-Emporia State used a 16-0 run in the second half to open up a close game in an 81-66 victory over Southeastern Oklahoma on the first night of the St. Mary's Thanksgiving Classic in San Antonio, Texas. Terrence Moore and Jevon Taylor led four Hornets in double figures with 15 points each.
The first half was tight with two ties and five lead changes as Emporia State took a 36-32 lead into the break. After the Savage Storm cut the lead to 36-35 the Hornets went on an 8-0 run that would eventually go to 24-2 as Emporia State took control. The lead would eventually reach 28 points at 66-38 with 11:10 left in the game.
Taylor was five of seven from the three point line for his 15 points while Moore was four of eight from the field and a perfect seven of seven from the line for his 15 on the night. Kaleb Wright had 14 points and Paul Bunch added then for the Hornets. Daniel Shaw led Emporia State with four rebounds while Moore dished five assists.
Emporia State is back in action on Saturday night when they take on the host Rattlers. Tip-off from St. Mary's Bill Greehey Arena in San Antonio is set for 7:30 p.m.
