November 18, 2013-The #5 Lady Hornets put six players in double figures in a 107-58 victory over Tabor on Monday night on Slaymaker Court in White Auditorium.
The Lady Hornets jumped out to a 13-0 lead in the first 3:07 of the game. Tabor would close to within nine points at 20-11 with 12:20 left in the half before Emporia State went on another 7-0 run and the lead would not drop below double digits the rest of the game.
Merissa Quick led Emporia State with 22 points on seven of nine shooting from the field and an eight of eight performance at the line in 19 minutes. Kionna Kellogg had a double double with 16 points and ten rebounds. They were joined in double figures by Haley Parker with a career high 15 points, Rheanna Egli with 13, Laura Patrick with 11 points and Desiree Wylie with ten points.
The next action for the Lady Hornets will be another top ten match-up when they play host to #10 Midwestern State on Saturday. Tip-off from Slaymaker Court in White Auditorium is now set for 4:00 p.m.
This was the 66th time in school history the Lady Hornets have eclipsed the 100 point mark and the most points scored since a 110-68 victory over Missouri Western during the 2010 National Championship season.
