MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) _ Kansas State scored four unanswered touchdowns in the second half to defeat West Virginia, 35-12, and gain its first Big 12 win of the season Saturday.
Jake Waters was 10-of-13 for 198 yards and three touchdowns for Kansas State (3-4, 1-3). Daniel Sams was 8-for-8 for 93 yards and a touchdown. Tyler Lockett had eight catches for 111 yards and three scores.
Clint Trickett, who threw for 228 yards, put West Virginia (3-5, 1-4) on the scoreboard in the first quarter when he kept the ball and ran for a touchdown from the 6 yard line. The extra point was blocked but Josh Lambert later kicked a 21-yard field goal to put the Mountaineers up 9-7 at the half.
Lambert also kicked a 50-yard field goal in the third quarter, but West Virginia was kept out of the end zone the rest of the game.
