LAWRENCE, Kan. (WIBW) - Playing with the tournament's top seed, Manhattan High School seemed the favorite in their opening game at Thursday's 6A baseball tournament.
But their Centennial League foes, the Junction City Blue Jays, said not so fast. The 9-13 eighth seed in the tournament gave the Indians a bit of a scare. The game was scoreless through the bottom of the fifth inning when Manhattan's Bret Fehr drove in what would be the game's only run.
Manhattan defeated Junction City, 1-0, and will take on Maize in Friday's semifinal.
