Peter Pfannenstiel of Silver Lake, Kansas sent his highlight tape to USA Football in hopes to make the Under-19 National Team. His efforts paid off as he was one of 45 players and one of six MIAA student-athletes to be selected.

"The thing I'm most looking forward to is just being able to play for the USA Team and represent our country with a bunch of guys that share the same passion that I do in football", said Pfannenstiel who will represent both Washburn University and the red, white and blue at the World Football Championships in Kuwait City, Kuwait from July 7-16.

The redshirt freshman safety is certain that international play will prepare him for the Ichabod's 2014-2015 season. "I'm getting some new information and learning from my new secondary coach. Also, getting started with pads before August helps. When I come back to training camp at Washburn I'll already be playing in pads".
