Kansas City, Mo. -- Washburn senior middle hitter Jessica Fey has been named the Daktronics Central Region Player of the Year in a vote by the regions sports information directors. The NCAA Central Region tournament starts on Thursday, Nov. 29 hosted by Concordia-St. Paul.

Fey is averaging 3.31 kills per set while hitting .361 on the season. She is joined on the first team by Nebraska-Kearney's Ariel Krolikowski who is averaging 3.60 kills per set on the season. Second team members from the MIAA were Truman's Allie Brak and Megan Sharpe and Nebraska-kearney's Katie Sokolowski and Jenna Rouzee.

Washburn will face Nebraska-Kearney in the opening round of the Central Regional on Nov. 29 from St. Paul, Minn. First serve for that match is scheduled for 12 noon, while Truman will face Southwest Minnesota State at 2:30 p.m. and Central Missouri faces Minnesota Duluth at 5 p.m.
