Fey earns second straight All-America honor
AVCA All-America Teams
Senior middle hitter Jessica Fey became a two-time All-American as the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-America teams were announced Monday. Fey was named honorable mention for the second straight year.
Fey finished her career third at Washburn with a .322 attack percentage and her .357 percentage this year is the fourth-highest in school history. She totalled 1,211 kills in her four years, the 13th-highest total in school history. Her 342 total blocks is 13th in school history and she's the ninth player in Washburn history to end her career with over 1,000 kills and 300 blocks.
She was already named the MIAA and Daktronics Central Region player of the year and she was a first team all-region selection from the AVCA and Daktronics teams. The Daktronics All-America team will be announced later this week. She finished the year second in the MIAA in attack percentage and fourth with 3.31 kills a set.
Fey became the eighth Lady Blue to earn All-America last year and this award gives head coach Chris Herron 16 All-America honors during his 11 years of leadership. He's coached at least one All-American in every year but his first, 2002.
