TOPEKA, Kan. -- Follow all the exciting Washburn Ichabod football signings as they arrive on campus. All of the bio information will be updated as they come across the fax machine and have been verified by school administrators. Additional signees will include those who have enrolled at Washburn after transferring for spring football practice at the bottom of the listing.

Stephen Bell • 6-1, 255 • Defensive lineman • Topeka, Kan. • Shawnee Heights High School
As a freshman he was a starter on the offensive and defensive lines … as a sophomore he was a varsity starters as the Thunderbirds won the district championship and was the regional runner-ups … as a junior he was named to the all-city team and an all-state honorable mention selection winning another district title with a regional runner-up appearance … his senior season he was named to the Topeka Capital Journal's Top 11 team as well as earning 5A all-state defensive line honors and second team all-league defensive line honors as the Thunderbirds won the district championship … son of Avalon and Timothy Bell … father Tim played football at Washburn … uncle Veryl Switzer played for Kansas State and the Green Bay Packers … cousin Mervi played for Kansas State and the Buffalo Bills … undecided on major.

Kobi Gilikey • 6-4, 300 • Defensive tackle • St. Louis, Mo. • University City High School
Earned first team all-conference honors as a junior … as a senior he was a first team all-conference, all-district and all-state selection … son of Tamara Hill … undecided on major.

Pete Pfannenstiel • 5-11, 175 • Safety • Silver Lake, Kan. • Silver Lake High School
As a sophomore he was a member of the state championship squads in football and baseball … as a junior he was a 3A all-state selection as a safety and earned all-league honors at running back and safety … as a senior he was an all-league pick at running back, safety and as special teams returner … earned all-state honors at safety and was named third team all-state all-class … he rushed for more than 1,000 yards with 12 rushing touchdowns … a four-year member of the academic honor roll and academic all-league teams … a member of the National Honor Society … son of Nancy and Robert Pfannenstiel … sister Jamie is a redshirt freshman on the Lady Blues volleyball team … cousin Marty played football at Washburn.

As a freshman at St. Charles West High School he was a two-way starter and was also a starter for the baseball and basketball teams … as a sophomore he started on both the offensive and defensive lines on the varsity squad where he recorded 36 tackles … as a junior, he was a first team all-GAC north pick earning honorable mention all-defensive honors after recording 84 tackles as his team won the North co-championship finishing 10-2 winning the regional title … as a senior he was a first team class 4A all-state pick on defense and a second team all-state second team selection on offensive … he was named the defensive player of the year for the GAC north earning first team all-conference on both offense and defense … he was voted team captain and recorded 89 tackles with seven sacks and two fumble recoveries … invited to the Blue/Grey National Combine at the NFL Hall of Fame as a junior and to the Blue/Grey all-star game in Tampa Bay after his senior season … was a three-year first team all-academic GAC north pick, a three-year member of the National Honor Society and a two-year member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes he is the son of Sue and Steve Rockow … undecided on major.

As a senior he rushed for 1,359 yards and 18 touchdown while passing for 1,359 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior … will also play baseball at Washburn … son of Jamie Robinson and Tony Solis … anticipated major is business or physical education.

As a sophomore he was an honorable mention all-district selection … his junior season he was a second team all-state pick by the Omaha World Herald and a first team all-state selection by the Lincoln Journal Star as well as first team all-metro, all-district … his senior season he was named first team all-state, all-district, all-metro as well as the defensive player of the year … was selected to play in the Nebraska Shrine Bowl … son of Adria and Mike Sosnowski … anticipated major is Kinesiology.

Tyler Thompson • 6-3, 320 • Offensive lineman • Blue Springs, Mo. • Blue Springs High School
A four-year member of the football team and earned all-conference honors on the offensive line as a junior as the team finished 7-3 … as a senior, he was an all-state, all-conference, all-area and all-metro selection as the Wildcats won the state championship with a 13-1 record … son of Darla Kennedy and Bernell Thompson … anticipated major in education.

Braden Werner • 6-0, 220 • Linebacker • Topeka, Kan. • Shawnee Heights High School
As a sophomore he recorded 41 tackles and one sack for the T-Birds … as a junior he recorded 114 tackles with two interceptions including the game-winning interception return for a touchdown in the district championship game … as a senior he had 95 tackles with three interceptions and two sacks while … also played baseball … son of Michelle and Mike Werner … his father played football at Kansas … undecided on major.

Steven Williams • 6-6 • 275 • Offensive lineman • Jefferson City, Mo. • Jefferson City High School
Was a two-year letterwinner for the Jays … as a junior he helped the offensive record 2,039 rushing yards and 1,371 passing yards averaging 36 points a game … as a senior the offense recorded 2,156 rushing yards and 1,684 passing yards while averaging 28 points a game … son of Kendra Edwards and Steven Williams, Sr. … undecided on major.

Jason Young • 5-11, 235 • Linebacker • Blue Springs, Mo. • Blue Springs High School
Recorded 50 solo tackles and 65 total tackles as a senior and 9.5 sacks for the Wildcats … as a junior he recorded 41 total tackles with 4.0 sacks … son of Angela Cannon and Jason Young … anticipated major is computer software engineering.

Recorded 35 tackles as a junior playing in 10 games with one start for South Dakota … also had a tackle for loss and an interception with three pass break ups and four passes defended … transferred to South Dakota from Butler County where he played for two seasons … earned first team all-conference honors as a sophomore playing in all 12 games recording 37 tackles with 23 solo stops as a safety … also added 5.5 tackles for loss and two sacks with four passes defended and four pass break ups … at Topeka High School, he was an all-league pick as a junior and senior at wide receiver … also lettered in basketball and baseball earning three all-conference selections … son of Paula and Dennis Wakes.
