TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Washburn University announced a big addition to its basketball lineup.

Coach Bob Chipman announced Thursday that Jackson Davis will join the Ichabods. Davis is a 6'11" 225-pound center from Murphy, Texas. He played for the Texas Homeschool Athletic Association, averaging 13 points, nine rebounds.

"We believe Jackson's best basketball is really in front of him and the sky is the limit," Chipman said in a statement. "He's one of the tallest basketball players to put on a Washburn uniform. He has skills around the basket using both his right and left hands and he will change the paint area with his play using his 7-foot-3 wingspan blocking and changing shots."

Davis is the tallest Ichabod to suit up for the team since seven-footer Neal Pollard in the 1996-97 season.
