Kansas City, Mo. – For the third time this season Washburn’s Marissa Cox has been named the MIAA Volleyball Hitter of the Week while Central Missouri’s Annie Reilly was named MIAA Specialist of the Week for the first time.
MIAA Hitter of the Week
Marissa Cox, RS, Washburn
Cox hit .316 in three wins last week and averaged 4.20 kills a set. She reached double figures in kills in each match and had her first double-double with 17 kills and 10 digs Friday at PSU. She averaged 2.10 digs and 0.60 blocks a set as well during the week. The 6-0 junior right side hitter is a native of Richmond, Kan. where she competed at Central Heights High School.

MIAA Specialist of the Week
Annie Reilly, L, Central Missouri
Reilly averaged 5.00 digs per set as the Jennies stayed unbeaten with two wins last week. In the five set win over No. 18 Truman, Reilly had 25 digs, seven assists as well as a service ace and a kill. The Overland Park, Kan. native followed that up with 15 digs and three service aces in the straight sets win over Missouri Western. The 5-8 sophomore libero is a native of Overland Park, Kan. where she competed at St. James Academy.
