Kansas City, Mo. -- The two remaining undefeated teams will face off as MIAA football heads into week ten.
South Dakota Mines at Nebraska-Kearney
Nebraska-Kearney will step outside of league play when they welcome South Dakota Mines in week ten. The Lopers offense is led by Romero Cotton who is averaging 69 yards per game rushing with three touchdowns. Luke McNitt has six rushing touchdowns and Bronson Marsh has four rushing touchdowns. Marsh and McNitt also each have to touchdowns through the air this season. On defense Kellen Werner leads the way with 94 tackles and Tyke Kozeal has 91 tackles and two interceptions. For the Hardrockers Evan Sanders has 16 passing touchdowns to go along with five touchdowns on the ground. Ben Broeker has passed for ten touchdowns and rushed for six on the season. On defense Lucas Riebe leads the way with 70 total tackles and Traevon Beddard has four interceptions.
#22 Missouri Western at #15 Washburn
#15 Washburn will be looking to bounce back from their first loss of the season when they welcome #22 Missouri Western in week ten. For the Ichabods Mitch Buhler is averaging 251 yards per game passing with 23 touchdowns. Tore’ Hurst has hauled in six touchdown catches and Vershon Moore has seven scores on the ground. On defense Bryce Atagi has 71 tackles, 9.5 of which are for a loss, and a team best five interception. For the Griffons Travis Partridge is averaging 210 yards per game passing with 18 touchdowns and 45 yards per game rushing for nine scores. Raphael Spencer is averaging 116 yards per game passing with nine touchdowns on the year. On defense Stephen Juergens has 71 total tackles and Michael Jordan leads the team with three interceptions.
Central Oklahoma at Southwest Baptist
Central Oklahoma will look to pick up their second straight win as they travel to Southwest Baptist who is also in search of their second win. For the Bronchos Joshua Birmingham is averaging 96 yards per game on the ground with 15 touchdowns. Adrian Nelson is averaging 248 yards per game passing with five total touchdowns. On defense Adrian Sheocraft leads the team with 64 total tackles. For the Bearcats Joey Dominguez has made four starts and is averaging 136 yards per game passing with four touchdowns. Derwyn Lauderdale is averaging 109 yards per game receiving and has hauled in six touchdown receptions. On defense Shaquille Shedd has 73 tackles while Jonathan Drury leads the team with seven tackles for a loss.
#2 Northwest Missouri at #10 Emporia State
A battle of the last two unbeaten teams in the league will kick off in week ten as #2 Northwest Missouri travels to #10 Emporia State. It marks the third straight week that two top 15 teams from the MIAA will square off. For the Bearcats MIAA Offensive Athlete of the Week Trevor Adams is averaging 186 yards per game passing with 14 touchdowns and also has one touchdown on the ground. Brady Bolles has passed for seven touchdowns and has scored eight on the ground. On defense Eric Reimer has 68 tackles including a team best 11 for a loss. For the Hornets Brent Wilson is averaging 312 yards per game passing with 30 touchdowns. Antionio Brown has nine touchdowns on the ground and Ray Ray Davis has 13 touchdown receptions. Defensively Tariq Allen has 55 tackles and Chris Poston and Gary Fortune each have four picks.
Fort Hays State at Central Missouri
Fort Hays State rides a five game winning streak into Warrensburg, Mo. in week ten as they face Central Missouri. For the Tigers Treveon Albert is averaging 185 yards per game with 15 touchdowns. MIAA Special Teams Athlete of the Week Keaton Callins has 42 catches for 515 yards and seven touchdowns. On defense Justin McPhail leads the way with 73 tackles while Michael Jordan has a team best three interceptions. For the Mules Hayden Hawk is averaging 300 yards per game passing with 25 touchdowns adding two on the ground. Ronrei Lloyd has 64 catches for 1,111 yards and 10 touchdowns. On Defense Ricky Spratley leads the way with 75 total tackles including 6.5 for a loss and Zach Quines has a team best three interceptions.
Northeastern State at Lincoln
Northeastern State and Lincoln will both battle for their second win as they face off in week ten. The RiverHawks Steven Hopper ran for three touchdowns last week as NSU picked up their first win. Thor Long is averaging 122 yards per game passing with three scores. On defense Langston Jones has 118 tackles including eight for a loss. For the Blue Tigers Morris Henderson is averaging 109 yards per game rushing with nine scores. Jacob Morris is averaging 210 yards per game passing with 12 touchdowns also rushing for four. On defense Kendrick Causey has 100 tackles and Darius Ford has a team best five tackles for a loss.
Missouri Southern at LIndenwood-Belleville
Missouri Southern will travel north to face off with Lindenwood-Belleville in week ten. The Lions are led by Chris Barnwell, Jay McDowell and JJ Jones who each have six touchdown on the ground. Giresse Forchu has five scores on the ground as eight different MSSU runners have found the end zone this season. On defense Gatlin Ridgeway has 66 tackles including a team best 8.5 tackles for a loss. For the Lynx Kerry Gibson is averaging 183 yards per game passing with nine touchdowns. On the ground Kameron Harris is averaging 118 yards per game with 13 scores. On defense T.J. Onstott has 75 total tackles.
#6 Pittsburg State at Lindenwood
The MIAA Television Network Game of the Week will feature #6 Pittsburg State going on the road to face Lindenwood. For the Gorillas Anthony Abenoja is averaging 256 yards per game passing with 22 touchdowns, as he has also rushed for three. Jeff Seybold has 18 touchdowns on the ground and John Brown has 11 touchdown receptions. On defense Nate Dreiling leads the team with 78 tackles while Tyler Disney has nine tackles for a loss. For the Lions Dillon Miller is averaging 274 yards per game passing with 13 touchdowns. Marvin Byrd has seven rushing touchdowns and Alex Robinson has six scores through the air.
