TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- The Co-Centennial League champion Topeka High Trojans are back on the gridiron with hopes of improving on a successful 8-2 season in 2013.
The Trojans return 7 defensive starters and 4 offensive starters from a year ago, including Quarterback Alec Beatty who accounted for 29 total touchdowns.
After a summer of passing heavily with the team, things are only getting better for "Mighty Troy."
Head Coach Walt Alexander believes the team has meshed together nicely in the off season, saying, "We worked with them all summer with 4 practices a week and in the weight room so we know we've got. Our kids went to Alabama and played some 50 games of 7 on 7. We have just spent a lot of time together."
All-League Quarterback Alec Beatty agrees saying, "Just the chemistry with the receivers is a lot better, it's unbelievable. We have made the playoffs two years in a row and just want to make a third and get farther than the 1st and 2nd round."
