Tiebreak Gives Hayden 4A Regional Golf Title

Hayden and Buhler came off the course with identical team scores of 339, and a tie break determined Hayden the winner at 4A Regional golf in Wamego.

WAMEGO, Kan. (WIBW) - It was an uphill battle in Wamego for Monday's 4A regional golf tournament, as players faced 25 mile per hour winds.

Hayden and Buhler came off the course with identical team scores of 339. KSHSAA rules use the 5th lowest individual's score as a team tie breaker. Hayden's Zach Wurtz's score of 90 put his team on top.

Holton finished in third with a team score of 359, advancing their team to state as well.

Holton's Ethan Holoday took home top individual honors with a score of 81. Four players shot 83. After playoffs, Wamego's Parker Waters took second, followed by Hayden's Brock Falley.

The 4A State Golf Championship takes place Tuesday, May 27, at Firekeeper Golf Course in Mayetta.
