SPORTING KC TO HOST STOKE CITY FC TONIGHT

Sporting Kansas City will host the English Premier League's Stoke City FC in an international friendly at 7:30 p.m. CT tonight at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.com or at the LSP Box Offices.

Stoke City FC will be the second Barclays Premier League side to face Sporting Kansas City at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park following the visit of Newcastle United in July of 2011. In 2010, Sporting Kansas City defeated Manchester United by a 2-1 scoreline in front of over 52,000 fans at Arrowhead Stadium.

Founded in 1863, Stoke City are the oldest club in the Premier League and are led by Manager Tony Pulis and forward Peter Crouch, an England international with 22 goals in 42 appearances.

ROGER ESPINOZA AT LONDON 2012 OLYMPIC GAMES

Sporting Kansas City midfielder Roger Espinoza is at the London 2012 Olympic Games where he is one of three over-age players on the Honduras under-23 Olympic team. Honduras first tied Morocco 2-2 on July 26 in the Group D opener. Espinoza started and played the full 90 minutes in the first Olympic appearance of his career.

Three days later, Honduras upset Spain 1-0, with Espinoza serving in the game-winning assist to lift Honduras to the 1-0 victory. Earlier today, Honduras played to a scoreless draw against group-winners Japan. Espinoza and Honduras will now face Brazil in the quarterfinals on Saturday.

Espinoza, named a 2012 MLS All-Star, has represented Honduras at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa and is one of four MLS players at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

SPORTING KC LAUNCHES 2013 SEASON TICKET RENEWAL CAMPAIGN

Sporting Kansas City began the club's 2013 season ticket renewal campaign on Saturday for current Sporting Kansas City Season Ticket Members to secure their seats at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park next season.

The "Love and Sporting" themed renewal campaign gives current Sporting Kansas City Season Ticket Members the first chance to secure 2013 season tickets by contacting their Client Service Representative. Additionally, Sporting Kansas City is offering renewal incentives for Season Ticket Members who pay in full and/or renew during the First Chance Campaign.

Beginning with the 2013 season, all Season Ticket Members will receive a 5% discount on team merchandise by presenting your Season Ticket Membership Card at any Sporting Style store during a Sporting KC home match. Additionally, the 2013 Sporting Kansas City Referral Program will reward Season Ticket Members whose friends and family members purchase new 2013 full season ticket seats.

SPORTING KC SIGNS GOALKEEPER SCOTT ANGEVINE

Sporting Kansas City has signed goalkeeper Scott Angevine. The Overland Park, Kan. native was a former member of the Sporting Kansas City Academy and attended Blue Valley Northwest High School, where he captained the team to the Kansas 6A State Championship and was named an NSCAA honorable mention All-American.

He attended Northern Illinois University in 2007 and completed his college career at Coastal Carolina University, where he was teammates with current Sporting Kansas City defender Cyprian Hedrick. Angevine is one of seven Kansas City locals on Sporting's roster.

SPORTING KC FALLS TO COLUMBUS CREW

Sporting Kansas City fell 2-1 to the Columbus Crew in front of a sold out crowd at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park on Saturday. Sporting KC claimed the first goal of the night off of a header from Kei Kamara for his team-leading eighth goal of the season, but Columbus fought back with a brace from Jairo Arrieta.

Sporting Kansas City remains in second place in the Eastern Conference, one point shy of the New York Red Bulls.

NIELSEN, ZUSI & COLLIN PLAY IN MLS ALL-STAR GAME

Sporting Kansas City's Jimmy Nielsen, Aurelien Collin and Graham Zusi made appearances at the 2012 AT&T MLS All-Star Game last week at PPL Park as the MLS All-Stars defeated Chelsea FC 3-2. Nielsen and Collin each started the match, while Graham Zusi replaced Thierry Henry in the 57th minute.

All three players earned their first minutes in an MLS All-Star match, while Roger Espinoza and Kei Kamara each received the first MLS All-Star honors of their careers upon being named to the Inactive Roster. Sporting Kansas City's five MLS All-Star selections tied San Jose for the most of any team in 2012 and matched the most All-Stars chosen in club history, along with the 1997 and 2000 seasons.

SPORTING KC TO HOST U.S. OPEN CUP FINAL

Sporting Kansas City will host the Seattle Sounders FC on August 8 at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park with the opportunity to win the Dewar Challenge Trophy and secure a spot in the 2013-14 CONCACAF Champions League.

The MNT concludes the Semifinal Round of FIFA World Cup qualifying by facing Guatemala on October 16 at 6 p.m. CT. Media members wishing to cover the match may apply for credentials online at ussoccer.com. All applications must be submitted before Wednesday, October 3.
