(October 7, 2013) -- Sporting Kansas City can secure a playoff berth and move into the Eastern Conference and Supporters' Shield lead on Wednesday when they take on the Houston Dynamo at 7:30 p.m. CT at BBVA Compass Stadium live on KSMO-TV and La Gran D 1340AM. Sporting KC trails New York by two points with a game in hand on the Red Bulls with three games remaining in the MLS regular season.
All Sporting KC fans 21 and over are invited to attend the team's official watch party at Hollywood Casino's Turn 2 Sports Bar & Restaurant on Wednesday. Food and drink specials will be available, highlighted by half price pizzas, half price wings and $3 drafts.
While Sporting KC is on the road for the mid-week match, the U.S. Men's National Team has arrived in Kansas City for their FIFA World Cup qualifier against Jamaica at 5:30 p.m. CT on Friday at Sporting Park. The sold out match is the United States' final home game of 2013 and sees Sporting Park become the only venue to host the U.S. MNT each of the last three years.
The U.S. MNT, featuring Sporting KC All-Stars Matt Besler and Graham Zusi, will host an open training session at 5:30 p.m. CT on Wednesday at Sporting Park and a pep rally from 6-9 p.m. CT on Thursday at the Kansas City Power & Light District. Both events are free and open to the public.
Friday's international fixture will air live on ESPN, WatchESPN, UniMas and ESPN Deportes Radio. Additionally, Sporting Park will welcome all local fans to take part in the gameday festivities with a free watch party happening on the Sprint Plaza throughout the match.
Prior to the game, Sporting Kansas City Manager Peter Vermes will be inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame alongside former U.S. MNT forward Joe Max-Moore and New York Times columnist George Vecsey. The 2013 Induction Ceremony begins at 2:30 p.m. CT on the Sprint Plaza at Sporting Park and is open to the public at no cost.

On Saturday, Sporting Kansas City players will be making special appearances at two events in the area. Two Sporting KC players will attend Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City's 75th anniversary celebration from 2-3:30 p.m. CT in downtown Kansas City, Mo. Two Sporting KC players will also be at Village West Discount Liquors (11010 Parallel Parkway) in Kansas City, Kan. from 5-6:30 p.m. CT to meet fans, sign autographs and take pictures with customers.
Sporting Kansas City homegrown defender Erik Palmer-Brown is currently with the United States Under-18 Men's National Team for a tournament in Limoges, France. The U18's will play France on Wednesday to open the competition before taking on Czech Republic on Friday in their second of three scheduled games.
