March 11, 2013) - Sporting Kansas City prepares this week for their highly-anticipated home opener against the Chicago Fire at 2 p.m. CT on Saturday at Sporting Park. The match will be broadcast nationally on NBC Sports and available over the airwaves locally on Sports Radio 810 WHB and La Gran D 1340 AM.
Tickets are available in limited quantity through Ticketmaster.com and at the Sporting Park Box Offices. The first 10,000 fans inside the stadium will receive a Mt. D ew KickStart mini-scarf, courtesy of match sponsor Pepsi.
The team will train at 10 a.m. CT on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at the Sporting Club Training Center in Swope Park. The team will hold their weekly press conference with Manager Peter Vermes and a player at 12 p.m. CT on Tuesday at the training facility. On Wednesday, the team will hold a scrimmage against Rockhurst University at 2 p.m. CT at Sporting Park. The scrimmage will be closed to the general public but open to media.
