Six Wildcats Earn All-Big 12 Honors from Various Outlets
MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State defensive back Ty Zimmerman, wide receiver Tyler Lockett and defensive end Ryan Mueller were each named an All-Big 12 performer by Athlon, ESPN.com and Sporting News, while Travis Britz, B.J. Finney and Cornelius Lucas picked up accolades from Athlon as various organizations continue to release their all-conference honors.
Zimmerman picked up first-team honors from Sporting News and was named to the second team by Athlon, while he was on the only team selected by ESPN.com. Lockett and Mueller were first-team honorees by both Athlon and Sporting News and named to ESPN.com’s All-Big 12 team. Additionally, Lockett was a first-team kick returner by Athlon.
Athlon also named Britz, Finney and Lucas Second Team All-Big 12 performers as all six players were also named to either the league’s coaches or the Associated Press all-conference teams.
Kansas State takes on Michigan in the 25th annual Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl, December 28, at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Ariz. The game, which kicks off at 9:15 p.m. (CT), will be televised nationally on ESPN.
