Shocks Fall To No. 12 Arkansas, 3-1

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Wichita State ended its season with a 3-1 loss to No. 12 Arkansas in the Manhattan Regional.

Starter A.J. Ladwig took the loss as he pitched six innings and gave up two earned runs on nine hits with one walk and five strikeouts.

The Shockers had just two hits in the game, a solo home run from Casey Gillaspie and a single from Johnny Coy.

The Razorbacks used an error, a walk and a one-out single from Tyler Spoon to take an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first.

Casey Gillaspie hit his 11th home run of the season in the bottom of the fourth to pull the Shockers to within 2-1.

UA used three-straight singles in the seventh to chase Ladwig and take a 3-1 lead.
