TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The Seaman Vikings have had some pretty good softball teams in the past, but this year is shaping up to be something truly special.
The Lady Vikes just wrapped up their first undefeated regular season in school history.
They head into regionals 20-0 under coach Jay Monhollon.
The coaches and athletes agree -- they've had some nail-biters this season. But they also say there is one key to their teamwork.
"We talk about cohesiveness," said Coach Jay Monhollon. "That's an emotional attachment, just like a family. When you have an emotional attachment to one another, you're willing to give a little more effort."
"All the girls have such a close bond that the teamwork and the effort... everyone is on the same level," said Delaney Hiegert. "We kind of have the same idea of what we want to do this year."
"The team has great chemistry," said Dani Spence. "We all get along so well. It's just a great way to end your senior year."
The Vikings will take on the winner of the Lansing and Topeka West game.
