Over 9,000 Athletes At 2014 Sunflower Games, 2 Stand Out As Best

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Over 9,000 athletes competed in this years Sunflower State games and two stood out from all the rest.

Maria Seemater of Marysville and Jacob Bull of Berryton have been named the 2014 Sunflower State Games Athletes of the Year.

Seematter brought home three gold medals and one silver in the swimming competitions. She is a full time nursing student and manager of the Marysville Aquatic Center.

Jacob Bull is currently a student-athlete at Emporia State University and has won 14 gold medals over 8 years of participating, including this year's 5k Cauldron Run and cross country race.
