Messick Finishes 12th at USA Cross Country Championship

SAINT LOUIS, Mo. – Former Kansas State cross country star Sydney Messick finished 12th at the USA Cross Country Championship on Saturday in Saint Louis. Messick finished the 8k race with a time of 28:20.9 competing unattached, and she was not far behind the winning pace of 26:50.1 by Sara Hall, competing for Asics.

Messick is a fifth-year senior and still has one year of eligibility in outdoor track and field remaining for the Wildcats. She finished 80th for the Wildcats in the 2010 NCAA Cross Country Championship and played a key role in helping K-State advance to the championship meet as a team for the first time in 10 years.
