MIAA Football Drives Into Week Three

Kansas City, Mo. -- Things start to heat up as MIAA football moves into week three of play.

Lindenwood at Central Missouri
Coming off two losses by five points or less to teams ranked in the top ten, Central Missouri hosts undefeated Lindenwood looking for their first win. For the Mules Hayden Hawk is averaging 313 yards per game through the air with five total touchdowns. Ronrei Lloyd is averaging 90 yards per game receiving with two scores and Anthony Kirkwood is averaging 89.5 yards per game with two TD catches. On defense Zach Quines had 17 total tackles and Ramond Hunter leads the way with 4.5 tackles for a loss. For the Lions Marvin Byrd is averaging 104.5 yards per game on the ground with two scores. At quarterback Dillon Miller is averaging 321 yards per game with three touchdowns. Defensively Connor Harris is leading the way with 26 total tackles and Thomas Stubbs has 3.5 quarterback sacks.

Lincoln at Missouri Southern
Coming off a win over NCAA Division I FCS Grambling State, Lincoln will travel to Missouri Southern in the MIAA Television Network Game of the Week. For the Blue Tigers Morris Henderson is averaging 118 yards per game rushing with three TD’s on the ground and a kick return touchdown. Jacob Morris is averaging 253 yards per game through the air with three touchdowns. On the other side of the ball Kendrick Causey has 21 tackles and Brian Smith has two fumble recoveries. For the Lions Jay McDowell is averaging 92 yards rushing and 135 yards through the air with five total touchdowns. Giresse Forchu is averaging 65 yards rushing and 54 yards receiving with three total scores. On the defensive side of the ball Jason Brown has 15 total tackles and Gatlin Ridgeway has 12 total stops.

#6 Missouri Western at Nebraska-Kearney
#6 Missouri Western takes a 2-0 record on the road as they head to Nebraska-Kearney in week two. For the Griffons Travis Partridge is averaging 155 yards per game through the air and 73 yards per game on the ground with six total touchdowns. Six different MWSU receivers have touchdown catches while Raphael Spencer is averaging 99 yards per game rushing with three scores. Defensively Stephen Juergens has 17 total tackles and John Ogles by has 13 tackles including a team best two sacks. For the Lopers Bronson Marsh is averaging 210 yards through the air and 86 yards on the ground with three total touchdowns. Nate Burns is averaging 56.5 yards per game receiving and Luke McNitt and Noah Housh each have touchdown catches. Tyke Kozeal is leading the team with 21 tackles and 2.5 tackles for a loss.

Emporia State at Central Oklahoma
Emporia State is a on four game winning streak dating back to last season as they head on the road to Central Oklahoma. For the Hornets Brent Wilson is averaging 299 yards through the air and 57 yards on the ground with nine total touchdowns. Dozie Iwuagwa is averaging 105 yards per game rushing and Austin Willis 176 yards per game receiving with five touchdowns. Jordan Sanders leads the team with 18 total tackles and Tariq Allen has 17 stops. For the Bronchos Joshua Birmingham is averaging 161 yards per game rushing with six touchdowns. Adrian Nelson is averaging 261 yards through the air with two touchdowns. On defense Adrian Shoecraft leads the way with 17 total tackles and Kenney Allen has a team best three tackles for a loss.

#22 Washburn at Northeastern State
Washburn goes on the road after winning their first two straight where they will face Northeastern State coming off a three point loss to Missouri Southern. For the Icahbods Mitch Buhler is averaging 273 yards per game through the air with eight touchdowns. Jordan Hart is averaging 110 yards per game receiving with three scores. Defensively Bryce Atagi leads the way with 16 tackles and Willie Williams has two interceptions. For the RiverHawks Joel Rockmore is averaging 122 yards per game on the ground. Thor Long is averaging 107 yards per game through the air with one passing and one rushing touchdown. Langston Jones leads the MIAA with 33 total tackles on the season.

#3 Northwest Missouri at Fort Hays State
#3 Northwest Missouri will go on the road to face 0-2 Fort Hays State in week two action. For the Bearcats Brady Bolles is averaging 119 yards through the air and 56 on the ground with three total touchdowns. Clint Utter is averaging 109 yards a game receiving with one touchdown. Eric Reimer is leading the way on defense with 17 total tackles. For the Tigers Treveon Albert is averaging 190 yards through the air with three touchdowns. Keaton Callins is averaging 29 yards a game receiving with three touchdowns. On defense Justin McPhail has 19 total tackles and two sacks on the year.

Southwest Baptist at #14 Pittsburg State
#14 Pittsburg State returns home to face Southwest Baptist in week three of MIAA play. The Gorillas are led by Anthony Abenoja who is averaging 220 yards passing and 70 yards rushing with eight total touchdowns. On the ground Jeff Seybold is averaging 96 yards and has three scores while Gavin Lutman has two receiving touchdowns. Defensively Nate Dreiling has 19 tackles while Tyler Disney has 11 tackles, two sacks and an interception. For the Bearcats Willie Tindal is averaging 350 yards per game passing with five touchdowns and two rushing scores. Derwyn Lauderdale has 19 catches for 338 yards and three touchdowns. On defense Ivan Hodges leads the team with two interceptions.
