WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- Max Lazzo fired a 4-under final round 67 and birdied the first playoff hole for an individual title while helping the Ichabods to a third-place finish at the UCM Heart of America Invitational at Keth Memorial Golf Course. Washburn will be back in action next week at the Midwest/Central Regional Preview in St. Joseph, Mo.
Lazzo won the playoff by sinking his putt off the fringe for the winning shot topping Sam Migdal from Central Missouri and Jason Purdy from Arkansas Tech.
The Ichabods as a team climbed from seventh to third in the final round finishing with a team score of 882 behind Central Missouri's 865 and Arkansas Tech's 879. Northeastern State was fourth with a team score of 883 and Southeastern Oklahoma was fifith with a team score of 888.
Following Lazzo was Ryan Johnson who tied for 16th with a 7-over 220 with rounds of 75, 75 and 70. Ronnie McHenry finished in a tie for 24th with an 8-over 221 with scores of 77, 69 and 75.
Tavin Dugan finished in a tie for 67th with an 18-over 231 after rounds of 76, 79 and 76 and Bradley Huttonfinished in 93rd with scores of 84, 75 and 82 for a 28-over 241.
