Lady Hornets Top FHSU, Men Fall

Emporia, KS- WBB – #7 ESU 80, #25 FHSU 77
#7 Emporia State scored 25 points off of turnovers as they picked up a win at home over #25 Fort Hays State. ESU forced 21 turnovers in total as the moved to 12-2 in the league this season.

For the Lady Hornets Kionna Kellog had a double-double had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds while Amber Vandiver had 20 points. Merissa Quick had 15 points, Haley Parker added 11 points and Kelly Moten finished with 10 points. For the Tigers Kate Lehman had a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds on the night. Tera Ingalsbe had 15 points and Beth Bohuslavsky had 10 points.

MBB – #23 FHSU 65, ESU 59
#23 Fort Hays State put up 42 second half points after only scoring 23 in the first half to win on the road at Emporia State. FHSU only turned the ball over nine times as they moved to 10-4 in league play.

For the Tigers Dwayne Brunson scored 26 points and pulled down seven rebounds and Jake Stoppel also pulled down seven boards. Craig Nicholson had 21 points and dished out three assists. For the Hornets Terrence Moore had a double-double with 12 points and a game high 10 rebounds. Paul Bunch and Kaleb Wright each had 15 points with Bunch pulling down eight boards.
