Lady Hornets Pick Up Road Win At Southwest Baptist

January 8, 2013-Seniors Rachel Hanf and Jocelyn Cummings combined for 22 second half points to lead Emporia State to a 65-59 win at Southwest Baptist on Tuesday night.

The Lady Hornets trailed 39-31 at the first media timeout of the second half when Cummings and Hanf combined on a 9-0 run to put Emporia State ahead 40-39 with 11:57 left.

The Bearcats were within 49-48 when Cummings and Hanf combined for six points and Merissa Quick added a bucket in an 8-0 run to give the Lady Hornets a 57-48 lead with 3:20 left in the game.

Hanf led Emporia State with a season high 19 points on six of ten shooting from the field.She was joined in double figures by Quick with 14 points and Laura Patrick with her first career double double of 13 points and ten boards.

The Lady Hornets are back in action on Saturday, January 12 at Truman. Tip-off from Pershing Arena in Kirksville, Mo. is set for 1:00 p.m.
