TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- The Washburn Lady Blues were blanked in an MIAA doubleheader at Northeastern State falling 8-0 and 11-0 on Friday afternoon. The Lady Blues will travel to Edmond to take on the No. 8-ranked Central Oklahoma Bronchos on Saturday.
In the opener Northeastern took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first before adding two in the fourth, three in the fifth and two more in the sixth completing the run-rule game. Two errors by the Lady Blues aided the RiverHawks with two unearned runs in the game. Haylee Marsteller had two of the Lady Blues' six hits in the game as the Lady Blues stranded seven in the game.
In the nightcap, the RiverHawks jumped on the board early with four runs in the first scoring two more in the third and then added five in the fourth leading to the 11-0 win. Alez Zordel and Deidra Jones had the two hits for Washburn.
