Lady Blues Earn Ninth Straight NCAA Appearance And Draw Rematch With Nebraska-Kearney

After dropping two close matches with Nebraska-Kearney this year in the Lopers' first season in the MIAA, the Lady Blues will have a chance to beat them on a neutral court as the two will play November 29 in the first round of the NCAA Central Region tournament first round.

Washburn (31-3) is the sixth seed and UNK earned the third seed. Five-time defending champion Concordia-St. Paul is the top seed and will host the eight team regional. The Bears will play No. 8 Wayne State (Neb.). Other first round matches feature No. 4 Central Missouri against No. 5 Minnesota Duluth and No. 2 Southwest Minnesota State against No. 7 Truman. Match times will be announced later but Concordia.

The semifinals will be November 30 and the final is December 1. The region winner will advance to the national championship rounds, December 6-8 in San Antonio, Texas.

The Lady Blues have been to every NCAA tournament since 2004. They also went in 2002, now giving them 10 total trips.They're 11-9 overall in the tournament and 6-3 in opening round matches. They've never faced UNK in the postseason.
